Meet Gardeners from Snohomish Homes at the Garden Club

Go gardening near Snohomish homes.People living in Snohomish homes and who want to learn to garden or make gardening friends should check out the Snohomish Garden Club. The club holds regular monthly meetings on the second Monday of the month. Meetings are held from January to June and September to November. Head to the Snohomish Senior Center at 506 4th Street for the 7 p.m. meetings. Each meeting features a guest speaker, and they cover a wide variety of topics. Refreshments are served, which provides a great opportunity for socializing. Yearly membership dues are $25 for individuals and $30 for couples.

Get Involved in Gardening Projects near Snohomish Homes

Garden club members from Snohomish homes volunteer for beautification projects around the city. There is also a full schedule of educational and social events. One of the major projects the garden club is involved in is the Martha Perry Vegetable Garden. Planting is usually started after Mother’s Day, and tending and harvesting continue through September. Helpers are always welcome to assist with growing the veggies for the local food bank.

Be sure to mark your calendar for April 30th, when the garden club will host its annual plant sale. Gardeners can set aside extra plants to sell and help raise money for the club. The event is a great way for novice gardeners to pick up plants that are native to the area and meet more experienced gardeners.

Snohomish Home Owners Meet the Easter Bunny at the Parade

Meet the Easter bunny near your Snohomish home.The Snohomish Easter Parade offers a fun filled day to all who call Snohomish home. This is one of the few Easter Parades that takes place in America, and this one is in its 34th year. Come on downtown to view the parade on Saturday, March 26th, 2016 starting at 11 a.m. Be sure to come a little early to grab a great spot along 1st Street. The Snohomish Easter Bunny will lead the way and guests will be able to enjoy floats, music, candy, fun costumes, marching groups, and much more.

Before and after the parade, Snohomish home owners and their families can take advantage of several other activities in the community. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will take place at the Avenue A Gazebo from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The price is $20 for two 4x6 photos. An Easter Bonnet Contest will be taking place in the Carnegie building right after the parade, so be sure to get creative and decorate a bonnet before the big day. All contestants are invited to ride on the Chamber Bonnet Float in the parade as well. Two other events going on are an Easter Egg Hunt at Snohomish Faith Church located at 1220 22nd Street beginning at 9 a.m. and an Underwater Egg Hunt at the Snohomish Aquatic Center.
