People living in Snohomish homes and who want to learn to garden or make gardening friends should check out the Snohomish Garden Club. The club holds regular monthly meetings on the second Monday of the month. Meetings are held from January to June and September to November. Head to the Snohomish Senior Center at 506 4th Street for the 7 p.m. meetings. Each meeting features a guest speaker, and they cover a wide variety of topics. Refreshments are served, which provides a great opportunity for socializing. Yearly membership dues are $25 for individuals and $30 for couples.
Get Involved in Gardening Projects near Snohomish Homes
Garden club members from Snohomish homes volunteer for beautification projects around the city. There is also a full schedule of educational and social events. One of the major projects the garden club is involved in is the Martha Perry Vegetable Garden. Planting is usually started after Mother’s Day, and tending and harvesting continue through September. Helpers are always welcome to assist with growing the veggies for the local food bank.
Be sure to mark your calendar for April 30th, when the garden club will host its annual plant sale. Gardeners can set aside extra plants to sell and help raise money for the club. The event is a great way for novice gardeners to pick up plants that are native to the area and meet more experienced gardeners.
