Choose from classes such as High Intensity Interval Training, Aqua Zumba®, Silver Splash for seniors, River Fit, Cardio plus Yoga, Paddleboard Yoga, and many more.

Paddleboard Yoga is a unique and popular class. It is a true adventure to try yoga poses while balancing on a board in the water and really takes the experience to a new level. Whether new to yoga, or a seasoned veteran, participants find their center as mind and body come together on the water. The cost is $27 per class and pre-registration is required. The class will take place from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 on November 11th, November 18th, and December 16th. Paddleboards for the class are provided by the Snohomish Aquatic Center. SO many Sellers and Buyers think the Spring Time and/ or Summer time is the time to “do” real estate.

High school kids from Lake Stevens homes can get involved in live theater by auditioning for the Lake Steven High School Drama Club. The award-winning group puts on a play in the fall and a musical in the spring. The club is mostly student-directed. A president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer are voted in at the end of each school year. They help to plan and manage the club’s productions. In addition to top-notch student actors, the Drama Club also has a great tech crew. These hard-working and talented students work on lighting and set design, props, costumes, and makeup.

This year’s fall show is Meredith Wilson’s The Music Man. Opening night is Wednesday, November 9th. Additional performances are scheduled on the 10th through the 12th and from the 16th through the 19th. All shows begin at 6:30 p.m. This is a great way for everyone from Lake Stevens homes to enjoy high-quality live drama at an affordable price. Tickets for adults ar $10; for seniors and students with ASB cards, they’re $8. Kids’ tickets are $5. The performances take place at the Lake Stevens High School Performing Arts Center. This state of the art facility comfortably accommodates 450 people.

Guaranteed Home Sale Programs?

Are these offers legit? Darin Persinger of  http://persingerrealestate.com shares with you in this episode of Inside Real Estate Show what he thinks about guaranteed home sale programs and Real Estate Agents or Investors that offer you "market value" for your home. 

Selling your home? Thinking about buying a new home? Need to sell your home quickly?

Have you ever seen Real Estate marketing that makes an offer something like “if we don’t sell your home we will buy it”?

Is it legit? That would certainly solve some of your problems right?

If you look around the internet there are plenty of sites out there that offer some kind of guaranteed home sale program. Some are based on timeframes, “We will guarantee your home is sold in 30 days, sold in 45 days, or sold in 90 days." The idea is if your home is not sold in X days, they'll buy it. 

Or another offer I've seen recently on Facebook is someone offered to pay cash for homes and willing to pay market value.

To that I say, "Impossible."

This real estate agent or investor is being at best, disingenuous.

At worst they are being dishonest.

What is Market Value?

When October rolls around some may get anxious for Halloween, but if you live in Snohomish it’s Brewfest that causes the excitement. The Snohomish Brewfest is held on Friday, October 28th and Saturday, October 29 and is considered the top beer festival in the county. Friday’s hours are 6 to 10 p.m. with Saturday hosting two shifts, 12 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.

During the festival, party patrons get together with the premier brewers of the Pacific Northwest. Not only can they indulge in the tasting of their products, participants can talk with the brewers as well. Guests rap with Georgetown Brewing Company experts and try to learn the secrets of Elemental Hard Cider. Snohomish’s own Prison Break Brewing will be on site with a ton of other high quality breweries.

Beer Lovers who Live in Snohomish Head to Brewfest

The fun just goes on and on when Beer Pong is involved. This hilarious game will be in full swing during the event and is sure to be the cause of lots of laughter and smiles.

When bellies get hungry they go searching for food. Food they will find on this Snohomish property event. Java Haus will be serving up scrumptious chicken sliders and there will plenty of brats with sauerkraut in the house. Dessert is served when the brownies come out satisfying those seeking sweets.

Snohomish Brewfest will be happening at 1011 Second Street. Tickets are available online and at the door. 

In the video below, housing expert, Ivy Zelman talks about why now is the best time to buy a house.

What you'll hear in the first part of the video is about home buying, millennials and builders. In the second part of the video she starts sharing about stocks to buy because she believes the housing market is still on the uptick, especially home builders.

Just adding my 2 cents to this conversation, obviously the best time to buy a house is dependent on your individual situation. But I hear many people talking about "missing" the market. That they some how should have bought two years ago, (even though they weren't ready), and now because home prices are up, it's not a good time to buy.

But the question should be, what is home affordability? Not are homes more expensive?

Check out this picture.

As you can see, home affordability is better today versus 20 years ago, adjusted for inflation. 

Now, of course if these numbers feel low, it's because they are nation wide medians, not the numbers here for Snohomish County real estate, or King County real estate. 

But real estate in the local area tends to run a bit more expensive than the median of the rest of the county, even 20 years ago. 

The great equalizer is interest rates. 

So, yes home prices are increasing, but unless you're paying cash, your monthly payment is probably more important to you than the median price of homes. And with historically low interest rates, your monthly mortgage payment could be surprisingly low. 

Housing Guru Ivy Zelman: It's the best time to buy a house curated from CNBC

"Housing guru Ivy Zelman told CNBC's "Fast Money Halftime Report" on Monday that "now" is the best time to buy a house. "It's the best time in the history of our country with mortgage rates that are below 4 percent that [renters] can actually lock in their fixed cost and create wealth for themselves," she said.

The founder and chief executive of Zelman & Associates is known for calling the housing peak in 2005 and the housing bottom in 2012. Zelman said this housing cycle is like a "tale of two markets." She said the entry-level market is beginning to accelerate, and builders' trepidation is slowly beginning to fade as more people are beginning to move to the suburbs.

The market would seem to be in agreement with her on that. The SPDR S&P Homebuilders ETF (XHB) was trading up more than 1.15 percent Monday morning, and on pace for its best day since Sept. 22, when the XHB gained 1.11 percent. On the other hand, she said the luxury markets in some cities are in the beginning see "a little bit" of a correction. When asked about whether millennials will ever buy homes, Zelman said they are beginning to buy houses, but mainly those who are starting a family. "What we're seeing is that they want to go to the suburbs, millennials are buying and we have nearly 75 million of them just beginning to come through the pipeline," she said."

Runners can take on a 10K, 5K, or 1 mile race on Saturday, October 29, 2016. The route goes through Monroe, the picturesque Sky Valley, Lewis Park, and Al Borlin Park. Early bird registration has passed for this year, but registration is still open at the regular rate of $35 for the 5K or 10K for adults, youth ages 6-15 pay their age for the 10K or 5K, and the price is $10 for all ages for the 1 mile run. Register by mail, online, or at any branch of the YMCA of Snohomish County. Packets will be available for pick up on Thursday, October 27th from 3 pm until 6 pm at the Monroe/Sky Valley YMCA. On race day, the 10K begins at 9 am, the 5K at 9:05 am, and the 1 mile at 9:08 am. There will also be a Kiddie Dash, that will take place after the main event. Even if running is not your favorite past time, all Monroe real estate owners are invited to come cheer on the runners or consider volunteering for this event. Craven Farm is one of the first pumpkin patches that was available to those who live in Snohomish and the surrounding area. Come visit in this, its 34th year. Operating hours are 9:30 a.m. until dusk seven days a week through October 31st, 2016. There is no admission to the farm, just pay for what you would like to do. There are many new activities this year as well as the old favorites. Work hard with friends and family members to find your way out of the Alice in Pumpkinland Corn Maze. Anyone looking for an adventure in the dark can also try out the Night Owl Corn Maze available on select Fridays and Saturdays. This one is not scary and is a super fun time. Enjoy some time off your feet on a Hayride through Minionville. Challenge the little ones to count all of the minions on the farm. Visit the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect canvas for your Halloween jack-o-lantern.

Fun for All Who Live in Snohomish at the Pumpkin Patch

There are also many treats available to the visitors of Craven Farm. Keep warm in the chilly autumn air with coffee or cider from the Espresso Shop. Lunch or dinner is also served by the Snack Shop, which has many choices, including the famous chili in a bag. Before you head home, grab a pack of s’mores to roast together at the fire pit. Also take a look at the Harvest Market to find some great items to take home with you. Choose from fresh squash, gourds, apples, kale, honey, mums, and apple cider. Adults from Lake Stevens homes looking for a fun way to get fit should check out the drop-in classes offered by Lake Stevens Community Education. Come Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. for non-competitive volleyball. Head to North Lake Middle School gym, located at 2202 123rd Avenue NE. Practice your skills in a friendly environment. Teams switch up every three games. The drop-in rate is $5 per class. This class runs through December 13th.

Everyone from Lake Stevens Homes Can Find Something Fun to Do

Zumba is one of the most popular exercise classes around the country. People have a great time with the workout/dance routine fusion. Come to North Lake Middle School cafeteria on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and get your groove on. The class costs $6 per session, or buy a 10-class punch card for $60. December 17th is the last day of this class.

The weather is cooling down around Lake Stevens homes, but the Lake Stevens High School pool is indoors, so water aerobics classes can continue. There are several options. A class is held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4 to 5 p.m. Or come Monday and Wednesday evenings from 8 to 9 p.m. Deep water aerobics happens Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. Class fees for adults 18 to 54 are $4 per class. For seniors 55 and older, it’s $2.50. Youth and disabled pay $3 per class. The high school is located at 2908 113th Avenue NE.
