Lake Stevens Home Owners Cheer on the Guns ‘n Hoses Softball Challenge

Play ball near your Lake Stevens home and support the food bank.Come help people who are in need that call Lake Stevens home and have a great time by attending the Guns ‘n Hoses Softball Challenge. Lake Stevens Fire will be taking on Lake Stevens Police in an annual softball game. Who will emerge victorious? They will certainly be playing their hearts out. Admission is free, but bring along some peanut butter to help support the Lake Stevens Community Food Bank.

This event will take place on Thursday, July 18th, 2019 at the Lake Stevens Community Park Ballfield. The address for the park is 1601 N. Machias Road in Lake Stevens. Hot dogs will be available at the barbecue starting at 5:30 p.m. and game time will be at 6 p.m. The barbecue is sponsored by Walmart, Franz, and Target. Choose a team to root for and have a great time supporting local fire fighters and police who do so much to serve and protect those who call Lake Stevens home. Make this a new family tradition each year.

As mentioned, peanut butter will be collected for the Lake Stevens Community Food Bank. This organization operates thanks to about 100 volunteers to serve about 100 families. Volunteers are always needed and donations are always welcome. The food bank is also currently raising money to secure a new facility that will allow the organization to serve and reach more people. Their current location limits their ability to serve all of the community members who are in need.

Volunteers are needed to distribute food, drive, help in the warehouse, and sort and stock the pantry. View days of the week help is needed, the times, and also find a volunteer application for the Lake Stevens Food Bank. While at the site, also read more about this worthy cause, donate online, and read stories from thankful families who depend on the food bank each month.
