Snohomish Real Estate Owners Go to Thumbnail Theater for Live Performances

Snohomish real estate owners go to the theater.Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater provides many theater experiences to those who live in Snohomish real estate. Programs, performances, and classes are available here to bring enriching arts experiences to those living in the area. Fridays and Saturdays are busy at the theater all through November. Every Friday features Friday Night Open Mic. This fun evening is open to all ages and family friendly. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and performers can sign up from this time until 7:15 p.m. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m and the event ends at 9:30 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $5 for audience members and $3 for performers. Each act is allotted two songs or eight minutes. Poets, singers, songwriters, instrumentalists, storytellers, and similar acts are welcome.

Saturdays in November include a variety of shows:

November 9th will feature Corkie’s Uncorked Again! - Thumbnail Theater Fundraiser Concert. This event takes place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and will feature Corkie Cordisco, Jim McAfee, and a Pro Band performing a variety of hits from several genres and artists.

November 16th will feature the Saturday Night Acoustic Showcase. This event will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. and feature three different acoustic ensembles.

November 23rd will feature the Tim Noah “Thankful” Show. This will be a 90 minute family friendly show that will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All are invited to celebrate the Thanksgiving season with songs and stories of caring, sharing, and gratitude.

November 30th will feature the Tingstad and Rumbel Holiday Concert. Get in the holiday spirit by attending this event from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Benefit Children’s Charities near Monroe Homes at the Blacklight Run

Go to the Blacklight Run near Monroe homes.A glowing good time is coming to the area near Monroe homes. The Blacklight Run is heading to Evergreen Speedway. This is not your average race with an emphasis on the fastest times, but a chance for runners of any speed and skill level to get out, have a great time, and get some exercise. Not only that, but all Blacklight Runs benefit local children’s charities.

The race will take place on Saturday, November 9th. Check in starts at 2 p.m. and the race begins at 5 p.m. Early registration has ended, but regular price admission is still available for $40. The registration fee includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, temporary tattoo, race bib, a charity donation, and admission to the after party. Packet pick-up will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 8th at Road Runner Sports in Bellevue. There will be an additional fee if runners cannot pick up their packet at this time.

Parking will be available at the event for a $20 fee. Try to carpool to save some cash. After you check in at the event, get your groove on at the pre party. There will be a chance to dance and get warmed up an hour and a half before the race. Once the race begins, participants will be released in waves. Runners are invited to stop into the Blacklight Run™ Glow Zones. Dance all you want while getting blasted with glow powder and then continue the race.

When the race is over, there will be even more dancing. Participants can head to the main stage where the DJ will be rocking. Catch free merchandise and glow gear as it’s tossed off the stage. It is going to be an unforgettable time and everyone will return to their Monroe homes tuckered out and ready for a good night’s sleep. Find Great Deals for Your Monroe Home at the Holiday Market

Discover vintage treasures for your Monroe home.Get your Monroe home ready for the holidays and also get a jump on shopping for gifts at the annual holiday market at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. The Great Junk Hunt will take place on November 1st and November 2nd and span 45,000 square feet. There will be crafters, makers, gatherers, and curators at the event ready to sell their wares. Spend hours walking around looking at vintage, vintage inspired, farmhouse, industrial, handmade, re-purposed, and holiday themed goods. It will be a fun treasure hunt.

Tickets are available now. Purchase an early bird ticket online only to get in at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1st for $20. You can also get tickets at the door starting at 6 p.m. Shopping will end at 9 p.m. on Friday, but the ticket will also be good on Saturday. Early bird tickets for entry at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 2nd are available online for $15 and can also be purchased at the door. General admission is $8 at the door only for shopping from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Kids 12 and under are free at all times.

Tickets and more information on the market can be found online. This market has won numerous awards and been showcased in several magazines. Whether you are an avid junker, looking for some new decor for your Monroe home, a collector, or wanting to get a good start on holiday shopping, this is a great event to attend. The Great Junk Hunt began in Puyallup Washington when creator Linda Albers wanted to find places to bring junkers together. Today, there are several other locations along the west coast from California to Washington. You never know what you may find at one of these events, but it is always fun to come see the unique goods.

Lake Stevens Property Comes Alive for Library Events

Go to cool classes on Lake Stevens property a the library.Grab some great books and movies to take back to your Lake Stevens property after attending an event at the library. There are many great offerings coming up at the end of October. Little Science Lab will take place on both Thursday, October 24th and Thursday, October 31st from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Preschoolers are invited to come out each week to learn about science, technology, and engineering. This program is made possible in conjunction with Imagine Children’s Museum and does require prior registration.

Teens and adults are invited to Wilderness Survival Essentials: Using Knowledge and Skill to Thrive in the Outdoors. This event will take place on Saturday, October 26th from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room at the Lake Stevens Early Learning Center. This facility is located at 9215 29th Street SE in Lake Stevens. Participants will learn about how to build a shelter and purify water, make a fire, forage for wild edibles, and other skills useful to surviving in the outdoors. Registration is required.

Get in the spirit of Halloween by attending Frankentoys on Wednesday, October 30th from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Lake Stevens Library. No registration is required and the event is open to all ages, just be sure that a parent accompanies any child aged 10 years and younger. Use old toy parts to make new creations. Be creative and add spider legs to another animal or make an intergalactic spacecraft complete with aliens. The possibilities are endless. Supplies will be provided, but if you do have any old toys lying around your Lake Stevens property to use and share, please bring them along. Snohomish Real Estate Owners Trick or Treat Downtown and Do the Zombie Walk

Go trick or treating on downtown Snohomish real estate.Halloween is a fun time to live in Snohomish real estate. There are many great activities planned, including the 6th Annual Snohomish Zombie Walk and Downtown Snohomish Trick or Treat. The Zombie Walk will take place on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at 4 p.m. Zombies are invited to gather between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Artisans Mercantile, located at 117 Glen Street. The walk will then go south on Union to 1st Street to Avenue D and then turn back toward the east on 1st Street. It will take place on the sidewalk only and be about ½ mile. Choose to join the walk or just come out for the spectacle.

Come for zombie face painting starting at 2 p.m. under the white pop-up tents that will be located in front of Artisans Mercantile. The price is $5 for ¼ face, $10 for ½ face, or $15 for full face. Proceeds will benefit the Snohomish Food Bank. Staff from the food bank will be available starting at 2:30 p.m. to accept food donations. All participants and onlookers are asked to bring food donations. These donations will go a long way in providing a happy holiday season to all who live in Snohomish real estate.

Historic Downtown Snohomish will trade zombies for cute kids in costumes on Halloween for the annual Downtown Snohomish Trick or Treat. Participating merchants will be ready to hand out treats to children in costumes from 3 to 5 p.m. Watch for photo opportunities and surprises while filling your buckets with candy. This is a great event to bring the community together, help kids to stay safe, and support local businesses. All Fiber Artists Living in Monroe Are Invited to Fiber Fusion Northwest

Fiber artists living in Monroe go to Fiber Fest.Everyone living in Monroe is invited to come learn more about the fiber arts at Fiber Fusion Northwest 2019. This two day event takes place every year on the third weekend of October. This year, it will be October 19th and 20th in the Commercial Building and Display Hall at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. Admission and parking are free, so come anytime between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday or 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday.

This event exists to bring awareness to natural fibers and fiber arts. Come meet breeders, artists, and others in fiber related businesses living in Monroe and in the surrounding areas. Watch free demonstrations, take part in a variety of classes, view live animals, shop for yourself or for gifts at more than 70 fiber related vendors, and take a look at a fiber arts show. Shop at the fleece sale and learn more about alpaca, llama, wool, mohair, and angora. Experience a spin-in, watch weavers, knitters, and those who crochet hard at work. Ask questions and be inspired to head home and work on some creations of your own. Grab lunch or an early dinner from one of the food vendors that will be located outside the commercial building.

There will be something for all ages at Fiber Fusion Northwest. Take a look at the website to plan your time. Snohomish Property Owners Go to Looking Glass Coffee for the Fall Tree Tour

Snohomish property owners go on the Fall Tree Tour.Learn more about the beautiful trees near your Snohomish property by participating in the Snohomish Fall Tree Tour. This event will take place on Saturday, October 19th, 2019. Choose from either an 11 a.m. starting time or a 1 p.m. starting time. The guided walking tour will go through the Historic District and participants will learn more about the heritage trees in this part of the city. All fitness levels will be accommodated and the tour will go on whether there is sun or rain. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

There is no charge for this event. However, a $5 donation is appreciated to cover the cost of brochures. Anyone who would like to do a self guided tour can pick up a brochure and go at a later time. Plan for the tour to take about two hours. Groups will meet at Looking Glass Coffee, located at 801 1st Street, Suite 201 in Snohomish, and enjoy free coffee before going on the tour. Waiting For Recession To Buy A Home

If you're waiting for a recession and home values to drop before you buy a home...

That home buying strategy could end up being a costly home buyer mistake.

There's three reasons why that could be a big mistake.

Over the last few years We've heard a number of people very frequently saying "I'm going to buy a home, but I'm going to wait for this next recession. I'm going to wait for home values to crash before I buy."

I guess the thinking is that what happened during the Great Recession, 10 years ago is something that's going to happen again, and going to happen very soon.  

And the thing is we've been hearing things like this since 2015.

And we've had plenty of clients that have bought during 2015 or 2016, home values have been increasing, they've been able to pay down the principal, sell their home and they move on to another home a bigger nicer home all in this time period.

Meanwhile, there's someone else, delaying buying a home, waiting for a recession, thinking to themselves,  "I'm just gonna keep paying rent and I'm going to keep waiting for home values to drop."

96 different economists asked about how likely an upcoming recession is and how does that impact home values. Most of them agreed, Yes, there will be a recession coming and it will might most likely happen in the next 18 months, but it probably will not impact home values, very much if at all.

Their prediction is that home values are still going to go up by 4.8% in 2019

2.8% in 2020

2.5% in 2021

3% in 2022

3.4% by 2023

So according to the economy experts, home values are going to be slowing down, with not much appreciation, but there won't be a real estate market crash.

The second reason why it's probably a mistake to be waiting for a recession to buy a home is that homeowners are not putting themselves into trouble by taking cash out of their property.

What was happening during the last Great Recession - I was in real estate during that time - is homeowners were using their properties their homes like a piggy bank, an ATM, they're going back and refi- ing. 

Pulling money out taking expensive vacations, buying nice cars. Basically the equity left in the home was zero.

That's not happening this time.

So for example in this article on CNBC, it reads:

"The collective amount of money borrowers could pull out of their homes, while still retaining 20% equity, hit a record $6.3 trillion in the second quarter of this year, according to a new reading from Black Knight, a mortgage data, technology and analytics company.

Homeowners, however, are sitting on their equity more than they have in the past. Just $54 billion in equity was withdrawn in the first quarter of this year. That is the lowest volume in four years and the lowest share of available equity tapped since Black Knight began tracking the metric in 2008. Less than 1% of tappable equity was withdrawn."

Less than 1%.

Homeowners have a lot of equity in their home. They're very house rich and they're leaving it there. 

Not like people did in the Great Recession where they're using their home as an ATM pulling it out and living more extravagant lifestyle than what they could really afford because the equity in the home was allowing for that to happen.

It seems this time around homeowners are a lot more savvy and not making that mistake.

What that means is, even if home values drop, current homeowners have so much equity in their home, they don't have to panic and sell their home for less.

And the third reason why it's probably a mistake to keep waiting for that recession before you buy real estate comes from a podcast from the financial website fool.com.

The topic of this podcast was the 8 things that happen a recession hits.

During topic, number four, they shared,

"The price of your house actually might go up. I think a lot of us were stung by the Great Recession, and that was really the first time we saw a nationwide drop in home prices. The truth is, when you look at recessions historically, home prices actually hold up well. There was a study by Mark Hulbert, and he published it in MarketWatch, where he found that when you look at the Case-Shiller Index of home prices, it actually does better during stock bear markets than it does during stock bull markets. Historically, in most cases, your house is actually a good hedge against a recession, against inflation, and a stock market drop. However, during the Great Recession, what we saw the last time, that was not the case. There will always be outliers. But generally, houses hold up pretty well."

If so, that's cool.

Buying a home is a big deal and you shouldn't do it until you feel ready and comfortable.
