Dinosaurs are coming to the area near Monroe homes. Come out to the Evergreen State Fairgrounds for Jurassic Tour to experience moving, breathing, and walking dinosaurs. This event will take place April 7th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and and April 8th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Purchase tickets online or at the door. Prices are $23 for those 13 and up and $28 for those 2 to 12. Admission is good for the whole day. Stay for an hour, stay all day, or even leave and come back later.

There will be so much to do and see and it will be an amazing experience for little dinosaur fans. Walk around and view 50 life size dinosaurs in their natural habitat. You’ll be amazed at how realistic they look. Let the kids get out some energy in the Jurassic-themed bounce area and bungee runs. There will be inflatables, face painting, and many other fun activities. This will also be a great place for parents to sit down and take a rest while the kids go wild. Children can get up close and personal with the giant dinosaurs. Kids can also have the chance to ride a baby dinosaur or be brave and climb on an animatronic T rex and Triceratops. Kids can pretend they are paleontologists and dig for bones. Stop by to hear the Dinosaur Band which consists of three dinosaurs jamming out and singing songs about dinosaurs.

Students living in Lake Stevens real estate are invited to spend some time at the Lake Stevens Library over Spring Break. Stock up on music, books, and movies to fill your time at home and also consider coming out for some special events during the week.

Little Science Lab will take place on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. This event is for preschoolers and their caregivers. It is important that adults stay to help out since this program requires a 1:1 child to adult ratio. This 30 minute weekly program allows children to explore science and gain a better understanding of the world around them. Get hands on with math, engineering, technology, and other science topics. Advance registration is required and if this date fills up or does not work for you, try another week.

On the same day, Thursday, April 5th, 2018, teens and tweens ages 10-18 are invited to the library for Wilderness Survival: Cordage. From 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. youngsters will learn all about making cordage, which is rope made from plant fibers. This is a very important wilderness skill. Each person will learn how to harvest and prepare cordage and also learn many wilderness applications for it such as fishing line and shelter construction. Each participant will also learn about paracord and make a bracelet to take home with them to their Lake Stevens real estate. Registration is required and be sure to do so early before the event fills up.

On Friday, April 6th, 2018, elementary aged children are invited to the library for Explore Forest Animals with Idea Hatch. This event will take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and children will be able to learn about forest animals through hands-on stations. Youth can get a little messy in an AR sandbox creating a watershed, watch with glee as they fly a bird in a wind tunnel, and gain confidence as they guess the animal from given clues. All can get creative and make animal tracks as well as a tree pendant to take home. Build on this as a family and consider going for a walk later and looking for animal clues. As with the other events, be sure to register early to claim a spot!

The Evergreen Speedway offers many opportunities for those living in Monroe to experience NASCAR and other racing events throughout the year. Come to celebrate the kickoff of the season at the 2018 NASCAR Season Opener Plus Fireworks. This event will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Evergreen Speedway. This day will be jam packed with activities. Kids can enjoy an Easter egg hunt with prizes, face painting, and games. Walk around and see what the vendors have to offer and also grab some tasty food. Just be sure to get situated in your seats when the racing begins. 

Some of the most notable drivers in the region will be on site racing on the newly repaved ? mile oval. There has been a great buzz in the racing community about the newly paved track and drivers are anxious to race. The first race of the Bud Crown Series will take place with the Speedway Chevrolet Super Late Models. Also watch the Monroe Grocery Outlet Super Stock Figure 8s, Interstate Batteries Hornets, Buzz Inn Steakhouse Singer 8’s, Mini Bump 2 Pass, and Buses. End the evening in the crisp air with beautiful fireworks. It will be a fun time for the whole family. Many Seattle Sports Legends will be at the event and honored throughout the evening. Seahawks legends Chris Warren, Joe Tafoya, and Lawyer Milloy will be at the track. Also join Sonics legend Slick Watts and Husky Legend Donald Watts.

Everyone living in Snohomish is invited to the 38th Annual Easter Parade on Saturday, March 31st. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and will travel through downtown Snohomish real estate on First Street. The Chamber of Commerce is hosting an Easter Bonnet Contest. Put your creativity to work and make a prize-worthy bonnet. Anyone who comes to the parade wearing a bonnet may ride on the Chamber’s float. There is no age limit. Pets sporting bonnets are welcome, too. Get on the float by 10:45 a.m. at Cedar and First Street. Parents may ride with their children or just meet the float at the parade’s end, First Street and Avenue E. The parade is expected to end around 1 p.m.

The deadline for groups and businesses to enter the parade is March 21st, so there’s still time to get your entry form in. Commercial entries (those displaying a business name) will pay an entrance fee: $25 for Chamber members or $35 for non-members. Entries can have up to five vehicles. The parade is a great way to advertise your business to Snohomish real estate owners. You’re welcome to pass out flyers and candy, but items must be handed to parade watchers rather than thrown. Decorate a car or truck and come out for a great time. Parade line up will run from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Sign-in will be at First Street and Lincoln Avenue, and all participants will receive their parade number and line up spot at that time.

Snohomish is one of the few communities in the area to have an Easter parade, so this is a great time for everyone to get together and have fun. The parade attracts people from the surrounding area, so businesses can easily and inexpensively advertise to a lot of potential customers.

The Quilters Anonymous 37th Annual Quilt Show is coming to the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, a Monroe property that hosts an abundance of special events through the year. This year’s theme is “The Great American Coverup” and the show will take place March 16th through March 18th. The hours are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $8 and parking is free. Those who ride the bus to the show can get a discount on admission.

Join more than 4,000 visitors from the Puget Sound region and British Columbia to view over 500 quilts. You’ll marvel at the quilting talent on display while checking out the quilts in twelve categories. There will be traditional displays as well as more innovative approaches and everything in between. This particular show is not juried, but will showcase some work by some world-renowned authors and quilt teachers. A few of the featured artists of this show are Joyce Fleckenstein, Jan Halgrimson, and Marjorie Meyers.

In addition to viewing the quilts, also pick up fabrics and other goods you may need for your projects at the show. A quilt will be raffled off and more quilts will be available for purchase to help keep you warm at your Monroe property. Also take advantage of free demonstrations of quilt making techniques each day. This is a great opportunity to improve your skills and ask questions of experienced quilt makers.

Coming up this Saturday is one of the annual events eagerly anticipated by runners living on Lake Stevens real estate. The 6th Annual C-Trail Run & Chase the Leprechaun will start at 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 10th with registration and packet pickup at the Centennial Trailhead, 13205 20th Street NE in Lake Stevens. Kids who want to run can participate in the C Trail Kids half mile run, which will begin at 7:55 a.m. At 8, runners participating in the 5K and 10K races will warm up. The 10K race begins at 8:15, and the 5K race begins at 8:20. The course is out and back, along the Centennial Trail. The awards ceremony for the 5K and 10K will be held at 9:10 a.m. Be sure to stick around after the race for live music and great vendors. Take pictures in the photo booth to commemorate the fun day.

A portion of the proceeds from the C-Trail Run will be donated to the Lake Stevens School District for the Stephen R. Covey “Leader in Me” program. Registration for the Kids 1K is $15; for the 5K the fee is $35; and for the 10K the fee is $40. Both runners and walkers are welcome in all categories. For those who would like to support the race but don’t want to run or walk the course, there are volunteer and sponsorship opportunities. And of course, everyone is welcome to come out and cheer on the runners.

The Centennial Trail is a great resource for all Lake Stevens real estate owners. The trail runs for 30 miles, connecting Snohomish, Lake Stevens, and Arlington. Walkers, runners, and cyclists use the 10-foot wide paved trail, while those riding horses use a 6-foot wide natural surface trail that runs parallel.
