Get involved with community theatre and make friends with other Monroe real estate owners. Sky Performing Arts is a completely volunteer staffed enterprise, and new people are always welcome. The group formed in 2004 when Take a Bough Productions and Off the Wall Theater decided to join forces. The first show was My Fair Lady, which was performed to rave reviews. Evergreen Youth Jazz and the “In the Mood” ensemble both perform under the auspices of Sky Performing Arts.

The latest show is the spring comedy, called Sadie Flynn Comes to Big Oak, by Norm Foster. Sadie Flynn is a convicted husband slayer, and tall tales begin to swirl around her the minute she gets off the bus at Big Oak. Tom and Orson, who run the town’s only cafe “Millie’s Cabin” give Sadie a job, but there’s no denying that strange events follow Sadie’s arrival in the tiny town. Come see this hilarious comedy, which will run May 13th through 15th and the 20th to the 22nd. Shows will be held at The Hall, at 114 North Lewis Street, located behind Big Daddy’s. Food, water, coffee, wine, and beer will be available for purchase at Big Daddy’s. What a great date night on Monroe real estate!
