It is likely that every Lake Stevens property owner either has been or knows someone who has been affected by cancer in some way. A great way to honor those who have lost their lives, support those who are fighting and those who survived, and to raise money to find a cure, is to participate in the Relay for Life of Lake Stevens. Taking place on Saturday, June 4th, and Sunday, June 5th at Lake Stevens High School, all are invited to form or join a team and participate. The opening ceremony starts at noon on Saturday and brings everyone together to reflect upon the reasons for signing up for this event.
Honor Cancer Survivors on Lake Stevens Property
Cancer survivors will then take the first lap around the track to start things off, followed by the caregiver’s lap to honor those who have cared for and helped loved ones with the fight of their lives. Everyone will then continue to walk through the afternoon and night. A touching luminaria ceremony will take place at 10 p.m. to remember those who have lost their lives, to support those still working through their diagnosis, and celebrate those who have won the battle. This is a great part of the event for Lake Stevens property owners and all participants to work through grief in the shadow of darkness with the glow of the luminaries giving off the light of hope. The closing ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. Sunday morning, a great way to end this time of togetherness and remembrance.
