Run a half marathon or volunteer to help near Monroe homes.Get ready, get set, get running near Monroe homes. It’s time for the Evergreen Half and local runners are tying the laces on their running shoes and filling up their water bottles. With both a 10k and half marathon taking place there will be plenty of action at Lake Tye Park on August 20th. The race starts at 8 a.m. with the course maneuvering alongside scenic Lake Tye and Old Snohomish Monroe Road. Evergreen runners receive a t-shirt, bib, and finishing medal. Walkers are invited to participate in the 10K as well. 

Parking is available at both Lake Tye and at Fryelands Elementary School. Additional spaces may be found on streets east of the park. After the race, runners are welcome jump in the cool waters of Lake Tye to refresh themselves.

Friends and family from Monroe homes are encouraged to come cheer on participants. Those interested in volunteering can find out more information on the run’s webpage. Helping hands are needed as course monitors, in the aid stations, for set up and take down and more.

Registration is easily completed online. Other sites to register include FROST Donuts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. until August 19th, or at Lake Tye Park on race day AT 6:45 a.m. Embrace the challenge and take part in the Evergreen Half. Step up to the starting line and see what you got.
