Winter ends near your Snohomish home.Come find out if spring will be coming soon to your Snohomish home, or if winter will be sticking around a little longer at the 11th Annual GroundFrog Day Celebration. This event will take place on Saturday, January 30th, 2016. Come on down from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m to the Avenue A Gazebo in downtown Snohomish. Everyone will gather aroundat 12:05 p.m. for the official prediction from Slew, the official frog weather prophet of the Pacific Northwest. Why rely on the groundhog on the east coast when we have our own animal meteorologist right here?

There is a full day of fun for the whole family. Enjoy cupcakes, hot chocolate and cider as well as frog tattoos, a frog craft, face painting, balloons, and a sidewalk tic tac toe and hop scotch. After the festivities downtown end, all who call Snohomish home are invited to head to the Snohomish Aquatics Center. Special Slew’s Pond Party will begin at 2:00 pm. Cheer for your frog during the Lazy River Frog Race. Enter for a $5.00 donation that will benefit Swim for Life, which helps children in need learn how to swim. The prize package for the winning frog includes the chance to be a Jr. Prince or Princess at the 2017 GroundFrog Day Celebration, a $100 gift certificate to Fred’s Rivertown Alehouse Restaurant, and a 10 session punch pass to the Snohomish Aquatic Center. Have fun at an open swim session as well after the frog race. Check out GroundFrog Day to learn more about this event and view a full schedule.
