Bring the holiday spirit back to your Monroe real estate after viewing the participants in the Holiday Window Decorating Contest. This is a new annual contest meant to bring downtown businesses together and bring holiday cheer to all of downtown. Businesses can join the contest for $30 ($25 for chamber members) and have a great time decorating their windows according to the theme Walking in a Window Wonderland. Windows must be up and ready for public viewing by Sunday, November 25th for Light Up Monroe.
Everyone living in Monroe real estate is invited to come downtown for Light Up Monroe. See Santa and the big tree lit up at Travelers Park. While downtown, walk around with friends or family members to view the decorated windows. Grab a map at participating businesses or view one online before coming down to see the windows. Be sure to take a good look at the windows and remember your favorite, as there will be a People’s Choice Award. Voting will begin on November 25th and end on Saturday, December 29th. Cast votes through the Facebook event page and be entered to win a variety of prizes including an Experience Monroe gift basket.
Other prizes will be awarded as well. The Monroe Chamber Board of Directors and Ambassadors will also judge the windows. Categories include Most Thematic, Best at Night, and Most Monroe. Winners of the contest will be announced on December 31st and enjoy a little free advertising. They will get a picture of their window in a congratulatory post and also be a part of the promotion for next year’s contest. Anyone wishing to participate in the contest must register by November 10th to ensure their business appears on the map. Anyone who has no window space but would like to participate should still speak up! They can be matched with businesses with window space who are unable to decorate.
