Snohomish real estate owners go on the Tweed Ride. It’s a jolly good time on Snohomish real estate September 24, 2016. The 2nd annual Snohomish Tweed Ride rides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Inspired by London’s Tweed Run, this bicycling extravaganza is a great way to soak up some British culture while soaking up some sunshine at the same time.

The jaunt begins at the Snohomish Carnegie Foundation Library and saunters off down the historic Centennial Trail. Participants will enjoy a spot of tea and sustenance at the Machias Trailhead Park. During this time of repose a bit of sport will take place on this piece of Snohomish real estate. Competitive spirits may indulge in games of badminton and croquet. Memorialize the occasion with plenty of photos and other amusements. Those fancying a light lunch can bring one along and picnic in the shade.

Proper attire is a must and dandies are more than welcome. Dress in tweed, wool or other similar fabrics. Ladies may prefer a handy cycling skirt topped off with a nice cap to keep lovely locks in place. Chaps will feel right at home with a button up vest, trousers and cravat or bow tie. Bicyclists shall have to stay in character, and those coming from Snohomish homes can consult London’s Etiquette List as a style guide. A costume contest with coveted prizes is scheduled for those most dressed to the nines.

Tickets are an affordable $15 per person. The day promises to be filled with giggles and guffaws. A worthwhile endeavor, with all proceeds benefitting the Historic Downtown Snohomish Association, the Snohomish Tweed Ride is a good time all the way around. Cheerio!
