Intense speed is coming near Monroe homes for the 6th Annual Summer Showdown. This NASCAR Short Track event is happening July 21st and 22nd, 2017 at the Evergreen Speedway. Fans can enjoy two full days of Super Late Model Street Stock and Mini Stock racing. This event brings in people from across the country and has become one of the premier Super Late Model races in America. This is very exciting because five different winners have won in the first five years of this event and this year’s winner will take home at least $25,000.
This race has brought in about 42 cars each year and is expected to grow. By moving this event to a different weekend that did not interfere with other certain NASCAR races, it should free up more racers and more fans. Cheer on a Washington state driver, Tayler Riddle, who won the event in 2016. Can this driver from Naches make it two in a row? The Summer Showdown is just one of six Budweiser Crown Series races that will take place at the Evergreen Speedway this year.
