The Snohomish Running Company would like to invite all who reside in Monroe real estate to come and participate in or watch the 1st Annual My Heart Beats 5K. This race will be held on February 11th, 2017 at Evergreen Speedway. This unique running event will be happening from 5 p.m. until 9:45 p.m. with the main race starting at 6:30 p.m. That’s right, the race will take place in the dark, but that is alright because the lights of the speedway will be shining down on everyone participating and cheering on the runners. There will also be a kids 1K run beginning at 6 p.m. and a Beer Mile that includes four beers and a mile of running at 7:45 p.m.
This event is all about getting that heart beating while running, great music, and giving back to the community. There will be DJs all along the course playing various genres of music ranging from oldies, to dance favorites, to electronic. When there is no DJ in sight, never fear because music will also be playing over the Speedway PA system. Everyone is invited to stay and enjoy the post race concert as well starting at 7:45 p.m. It would be a good idea to register early, but if there are still spots available, people can register the day of the event. The proceeds of this event will go to the Monroe Boys and Girls Club to benefit many young people who live in Monroe real estate and the surrounding areas.
