Kids looking for something fun to do this summer should head over to the library. The public Snohomish property will be the site of a variety of events for babies, preschoolers, and school age kids. Come for special story times and hands-on activities. The theme for this year’s Explore Summer reading challenge is the Olympics. Start with a goal of 10 hours of reading time to get to the bronze level and earn a free book. Keep going for another 25 hours to reach the silver level and have a chance to win a drawing for a $50 gift certificate for books. Kids who read a total of 50 hours over the summer will be gold medalists and earn another free book.
Bring Learning to Your Snohomish Property with Beanstack
In addition to the events at the library, Snohomish property owners can help their kids get more out of reading at home. Sign up for a free account at Beanstack, a program developed by our librarians to help families with young readers. The librarians have selected books to go with children’s interests and created fun activities to go along with the books. Once the books are read and activities completed, kids earn cool badges. Kids will be able to explore their interests all summer long with visits to the library and the helpful ideas and recommendations at Beanstack.
