Enjoy an afternoon away from your Lake Stevens home and attend one or both of the special events going on at the Lake Stevens Library on Friday, February 12, 2016. The first event, Gravity Catastrophe with Alex Zerbe, is for the whole family and will take place from 1 until 2 p.m. All in attendance will learn many basic concepts of physics through some amazing juggling. Alex will wow the audience with his skills while he teaches curious minds about such concepts as gravity, friction, gyroscopic stability, and center of mass. Come on out to learn more and never look at juggling the same way again.
The second activity available to teens who call Lake Stevens home is called Antipodean Valentine’s Day Party. This event will take place from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Antipodean means NOT, so come join others who are against all of the mushiness of Valentine’s Day and have a great time amongst friends. All who come will be able to make black duct tape roses, decorate cookies, eat snacks that give bad breath, play games for prizes, and mock the commercial portrayals of romance. The Lake Stevens Library, located at 1804 Main Street, is a wonderful asset to this community. Come for a special event, to check out a book or movie, get some work done, or utilize one of the many community resources.
