The Lake Stevens Library does a great job in providing quality programming over the summer months for children who call Lake Stevens home. The events calendar is full of fun and engaging activities, which is great in combination with coming into the library to choose some new books to take home. Two events that are coming up for school aged children in the Explore Summer program are Give a Hoot About Owls and Poetry in Motion. The owl program will take place on Wednesday, July 20th from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Mechelle VanHoudt will engage all children with facts and myths about these fascinating birds. Children can learn about how owls who live near their Lake Stevens home hunt and can spot their next meal from amazing distances. The little scientists can even dissect their own owl pellet.
Learn About Owls and Play with Words at the Lake Stevens Home Library
The following Wednesday, July 27th, 2016, all school aged children are invited to come back to the library to explore the wonders of words. Words move and influence people everyday and they can be great fun to experiment with. Those in attendance will be able to play games with words, create a puzzle and action poem, and dance with words. These great programs can get kids out of the house and learning during the summer months. Check the library events calendar to explore all that is going on over the summer.
