Kids living on Lake Stevens property have a couple of opportunities to get involved in sports this fall. Starting Sunday, October 2nd, kids in second, third, or fourth grades can start working on basketball skills. Sign up for the Future Vikings Basketball Clinic. Participants will learn basic basketball skills, like dribbling, passing, and shooting. The class meets from 3 to 4 p.m. and runs through October 30th. The fee for the class is $75.
Fifth and sixth graders who want to hone their basketball skills can come for a session just for them from 4 to 5:30 p.m. This class also runs from October 2nd through 30th. The fee is $100. Both basketball clinics meet at Lake Stevens High School main gym.
Teens and preteens who want to learn babysitting skills can come for a class at the North Lake Middle School library. Starting on Wednesday, October 5th and going through November 2nd, the class will cover basic infant care, handling toddler meltdowns, and what to do in an emergency. Kena Masonholder will lead the class, which will meet from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The fee is just $30. This is a great way for kids of Lake Stevens property owners to learn skills that can translate into a fun after school and weekend job.
