Are You A Local Discount Real Estate Brokers?
We are not recognized as a discount Real Estate Broker, for the most part. However, many of our clients are surprised at what our commission fees and cost of working with us are.
There are no industry-wide "standard commission fees" or “traditional commission cost.” All brokerage representation fees are negotiable. In some instances, we give commission discounts to sellers and buyers who are repeat clients or are working with us to both list a home and help find/purchase a new house. While we do not advertise ourselves as a local discount REALTOR®, our services are sometimes negotiable depending upon the situation.
We genuinely believe there is room in the market for every type of brokerage business model. However, with discounted real estate fees, there should also be lowered client expectations. There is absolutely a difference when it comes to levels of services between brokerages. How a property is marketed (or isn't marketed) can mean the difference in thousands, and sometimes, hundreds of thousands of dollars either in your favor or out of your pocket. It is very important to compare apples to apples when interviewing potential brokerages.
If you have the right expectations, and a lack of personal attention, agent availability, and overall "normal" professional services, the discount real estate brokers might be your route. Discount brokerages make their money by doing quantity (a bigger volume of listings). It would be humanly impossible to offer the same level of services to, say, 100 listings as it would be to a significantly smaller number of clients. When you decide it is time to "sell my house," keep in mind "you get what you pay for."
