It is that time of year again for everyone living in Monroe to enjoy the Evergreen State Fair. This year, the fair will take place from August 22nd to September 2nd, 2019. There is so much to do and see at the fair, people of all ages will have a great time. Get a thrill on the carnival rides. Enter a pie eating contest or belching contest. See the Aztec Indian Dancers. Cheer on the participants in the duck races, watch skilled riders in the barrel races and other rodeo events, and view all of the adorable 4-H animals. Shop for some great items for your Monroe property and do not forget to come hungry so you can enjoy the tasty fair food.
There will be three opportunities to view fireworks, at 9 p.m. on opening day, on the 23rd after the Monster Truck Show, and on September 1st after the Demo Derby. There will also be a variety of concerts and speedway events. NASCAR will be rolling on August 31st and Auto Cross will be available on September 2nd with paid fair admission. Also consider purchasing tickets to one of many concerts. SWITCHFOOT will be playing August 26th and Brett Young is on the schedule for August 27th. Come to see Newsboys with special guest Adam Agee on August 28th, The Born to the Wild Tour on August 29th, or Aloe Blacc on August 30th.
There are several special admission days available to attend the fair. Get in for free on opening day by bringing three non-perishable food items per person before 3 p.m. Senior citizens can get in for free on Monday, August 26th. Gate admission is buy one get one free on Tuesday, August 28th until 2 p.m. Wednesday is Family Day. Admission for four is just $30 all day. Children 12 and under living in Monroe and the surrounding areas can get in for free on Thursday the 29th, those who are serving or who have served in the military can get in for free on Friday, August 30th, and gate admission is $2 off for everyone on Labor Day.
