Grab some great books and movies to take back to your Lake Stevens property after attending an event at the library. There are many great offerings coming up at the end of October. Little Science Lab will take place on both Thursday, October 24th and Thursday, October 31st from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Preschoolers are invited to come out each week to learn about science, technology, and engineering. This program is made possible in conjunction with Imagine Children’s Museum and does require prior registration.
Teens and adults are invited to Wilderness Survival Essentials: Using Knowledge and Skill to Thrive in the Outdoors. This event will take place on Saturday, October 26th from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room at the Lake Stevens Early Learning Center. This facility is located at 9215 29th Street SE in Lake Stevens. Participants will learn about how to build a shelter and purify water, make a fire, forage for wild edibles, and other skills useful to surviving in the outdoors. Registration is required.
Get in the spirit of Halloween by attending Frankentoys on Wednesday, October 30th from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Lake Stevens Library. No registration is required and the event is open to all ages, just be sure that a parent accompanies any child aged 10 years and younger. Use old toy parts to make new creations. Be creative and add spider legs to another animal or make an intergalactic spacecraft complete with aliens. The possibilities are endless. Supplies will be provided, but if you do have any old toys lying around your Lake Stevens property to use and share, please bring them along. Read more about these events and others coming up soon at the Lake Stevens Library.
