The Lake Stevens School District is proud to offer community education opportunities for all who call Lake Stevens home. These classes, activities, and sports are great ways to feel connected to the community, learn new things, and stay active. The offerings for winter 2020 recently came out and there are some great things coming up in January.
Adults are invited to play basketball or volleyball. Over 40 Basketball with Alan Schultz will take place on Mondays starting on January 6th from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the NLMS Gym. The class fee is only $25. All participants are asked to bring a ball, clean shoes, and one black and one white shirt to designate teams. Over 18 Co-ed Adult Basketball with Micah Stevens will take place on Thursdays starting on January 30th from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the LSMS Main Gym. This class fee is also $25. Non-Competitive Co-ed Adult Volleyball with Kristie Carl will take place on Tuesdays starting January 7th from 7 to 9 p.m. in the NLMS Gym. Adults of all abilities are invited to play. The fee is $25 for the entire class or $5 to drop-in.
Youth who call Lake Stevens home are also invited to take part in basketball, dance, or cheer. There will be a one-day youth basketball clinic on Monday, January 20th for grades 6-8 from 10 a.m. to noon and grades 3-5 from noon to 2 p.m. The class fee is $25. The Jr. Vikings Cheer Clinic for Grades K-8 will take place on Tuesday, January 28th and Thursday, January 30th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Those who participate in the clinic will also be invited to perform at halftime of a LSHS basketball game on Friday, January 31st at 7:15 p.m. The clinic fee is $75. Upcoming dance opportunities include Beginning Ballet, Teen Hip-Hop for Ages 10-13, Primary Dance for Ages 3-5, Hip-Hop for Ages 5-9, and Jazz Dance for Ages 6-12.
