It is time for the Monroe Farmers Market to start up again, providing a great place for those living in Monroe to grab fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade items, and crafts. Opening day will be May 29th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the market will continue every other Wednesday until September 18th. This year the market is expanding at Galaxy Theatre, which is very exciting.
Come out to support local farmers and artisans who are living in Monroe and in the surrounding area. Grab local farm raised meat. Find delicious and juicy fruit and healthy fresh vegetables. Feel good about what you are feeding your family and for buying local. Other items available include fresh local honey, homemade jam, kettle corn, tea, fresh cut flowers and plant starts, jerky, birdhouses, vintage items, baked goods, candles, hot sauce, and much more. Services such as mobile sharpening will be available as well.
Listen to live music while you shop and bring the kids along as there will be activities and face painting available. Save the date for a few special events happening this year. Kids Pop Up will take place on July 24th and the Harvest Festival with a pie bake off will be on September 18th. Come meet others who live in the area and let your children experience all the market has to offer.
This event could not happen without sponsors. It is put on thanks to the Monroe Chamber of commerce, City of Monroe, Sam’s Cats and Dogs Naturally - Monroe, Evergreen State Fair, Natural Factors, Community Transit, Hill Street Cleaners, Genesis Refrigeration and HVAC, and Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Brian Metcalf. Relish in summer and make the Monroe Farmers Market a tradition every other week. Learn more and find more information about vendors at the Facebook page.
