This winter, the Lake Stevens School District’s Community Education classes are offering families who live in Lake Stevens homes a wide variety of swimming lesson options at the Lake Stevens High School Pool. Two more sessions for group lessons will be available with registration for each beginning on February 2nd and March 2nd. Sign up for every session will be completed on a first come, first served basis with payment due at the time. Students who have completed one session and wish to sign up for another may do so on the last day of their current session during a pre-registration period available only to current students and their siblings.
On Mondays and Wednesdays the 25 minute long group lessons will begin at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The upcoming session will last from the 5th of February until the 28th with no class on the 19th, which also allows for seven classes for $35. The last session of the winter will last from the 5th of March until the 28th with eight classes for $40.
The Tuesday and Thursday lessons offer students in each session eight classes for $40, and have three different time options for busy families, at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The next session will run from the 6th of February until the 1st of March. The last session will last from the 5th of March through the 29th. Families who choose these days should remember that the lessons could begin a little late on the days when Lake Stevens High School hosts swim meets.
On Saturdays, families have 4 different time slots available to choose from at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. These sessions will give students four classes for $20.
Group lessons for teens and adults will also be made available on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. as well. Each class will last 45 minutes. The next session will run from the 5th of February through the 28th, with no class on the 19th. It costs $52.50. From March 5th until the 28th, the third session will offer eight classes for $60.
Private lessons are also available and paid by the half hour, with one on one instruction for $20, and semi-private for two students at the same level for $30. These lessons must be scheduled at least 3 days in advance, and may be canceled or rescheduled with at least three hours prior notice.
