Residents from Lake Stevens homes are getting out and getting busy. September classes are heating up the calendar at the Lake Stevens Recreation Department. There is so much to do, it's easy to stay active. Classes are available in a variety of subjects for adults, kids and even animals.
Fans of shooting hoops jump into action. Over 40 basketball is great fun for those wanting to be physically fit, spend time on the court and with friends. Games of friendly competition occur on Mondays starting September 11th. No drop ins are allowed for this class. A lighthearted atmosphere surrounds competitive free co-ed volleyball games. Teams rotate with an emphasis on fun. The time for play is Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Drop ins are more than welcome.
Exercise and stay cool at the same time. Water Aerobics is great for any age and conveniently close to Lake Stevens property at the Lake Stevens Pool. Weekday hours are Monday and Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. and Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 9 p.m. Deep Water Aerobics is held on Saturday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. Costs are only $3 for youth, $4 for adults and $2.50 for seniors.
Puppies are happy to learn. Families with dogs over four months can learn basic obedience. After class tails will be wagging in Lake Stevens homes as pups sit, lay down and stay. Sometimes you can teach an old dog new tricks. Advanced Canine Good Citizenship goes a step further for dogs who pass the first course.
