One of the amazing things about living in Snohomish is the fresh, delicious seafood available year-round. With the Pacific Ocean close by and the Snohomish river in our backyard, it’s really no surprise. Andy’s Fish House is a favorite local seafood restaurant. It was nominated for best seafood in western Washington this year, and you’ll know why after your first visit!
The clam chowder is a wonderful way to warm up on a fall or winter day. The starter menu also has tasty offerings like shrimp stuffed avocado, fresh Penn Cove mussels, and barbecued oyster on the half shell. If you love oysters, try the oyster stew. It’s homemade, with oysters, onions, creme, and sherry. You can also opt for one of the delicious house salads. There’s the Louie, with romaine, tomato, egg, onions, carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms and cucumbers. Choose between shrimp, crab, or half and half. For the salmon lovers, the smoked salmon salad is a great choice.
When it’s time to order the main course, there are choices to suit every size of appetite. The fish tacos are often recommended. Choose your fish and have it grilled, blackened, or fried. The fish and fixings are wrapped in warm corn tortillas. Have your choice of fish beer battered or ask for a gluten-free option. If you’re super hungry or just have a little more time, go for one of the full entrees. Each is served with your choice of soup, salad, or fries. Opt for pan fried oysters, sauteed garlic prawns or sea scallops, or go for Alaskan razor clams. Cioppino is also available. It’s a mix of seasonal fish and shellfish, cooked in a light tomato sauce and served with slices of fresh baguette.
Seafood lovers living in Snohomish can also choose from a great selection of fish wrappers, seafood pastas, fish and chips, or combination platters. Visit Andy’s Fish House soon, and follow them on Facebook to keep up with daily specials and fun events.
