All skateboarders from Monroe real estate are invited to participate in or come watch the Sk8 Lake Tye: Skateboard/Longboard Races. This event will take place on Sunday, July 1st, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lake Tye in Monroe. The address is 14964 Fryelands Blvd. This may sound unique, and it truly is because this it the first skate race of its kind. All ages are welcome to participate and there will be several events going on. Choose your signature event or give all three a whirl. The 200 meter heat dash, 1.5 mile, and 3 mile will be available. A $1000 prize purse will be up for grabs. All boarders are invited to show off their speed and skills.
This race is sanctioned by the Skate International Distance and Supercross Association (IDSA). Anyone racing is encouraged to purchase a membership to the IDSA. The cost is $15 for a one-day membership or $20 for a one-year membership. There are many benefits available to members and it can really open doors to anyone who is serious about the sport.
This will be a really fun day for all attendees. Not only will there be the races, but also gear giveaways, tasty food, music, and vendors. The 200 meter sprint will take place at 10 a.m. The cost to participate is $8 for those 13 and under or over 60, and $10 for everyone in between. The 1.5 mile race will take place at 1 p.m. and the cost is $10 for those 13 and under or over 60 and $15 for everyone else. The 3 mile race will start at 2:30 p.m. and the cost is the same as the 1.5 mile race. The price to participate in all 3 races is $25 for those 13 and under or over 60 and $30 for general admission. All who live in Monroe real estate are invited down to the lake to participate, cheer on the racers, and be a part of this community event.
