All Snohomish property owners are invited to experience and support the Northwest Equine Stewardship Center (NWESC). This non-profit organization works hard with local equine rescue organizations to rehabilitate rescue horses. This center does not take in and adopt out the horses directly, but simply provides high quality care to horses in need that are part of other programs and organizations. This means that NWESC can focus on caring for the horses and also provide educational and therapeutic opportunities for people. The NWESC provides veterinary, hoof care, and training to horses. The community is also often invited to come out for clinics and special events.
Participating in programs through the NWESC allows Snohomish property owners to make a difference in the lives of neglected and abused horses. Equine professionals are invited to volunteer their time and vet and vet tech students are invited to come get hands on experience. The public is invited to attend a variety of educational series’, participate in the Equine Facilitated Mental Health and Learning Program, and attend Gelding Clinics.
There are also many ways to support the facility financially. Simply make a donation or also watch for special events that benefit this organization. The next event is Hoofstock! A Summer Solstice Benefit Music Fest. This will take place on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cedarbrook Farms in Snohomish. This music festival is family friendly and will feature Bluegrass, Americana, Ska, and Rock ’n’ Roll music. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event and tickets are $15 for individuals, $25 for couples, and $40 for a family when bought in advance. Prices go up at the door, so purchase your tickets early. Find more information about the NWESC, view all upcoming events, and find a link to buy tickets for the music fest.
